The Theory Test and the Driving Test
The Theory Test
The theory test now consists of two parts. A set of 50 questions with a pass mark of 43 and the hazard perception test, a series of video clips designed to test your awareness of different driving situations. You must pass both parts of the test at the same sitting and you have to pass the theory test before you can apply for your driving test.
There are a large number of books, videos, DVDs, CD-ROMs and web sites to assist you when studying for the theory. See my links page for more details. I also offer training for the theory test and I am happy to answer any questions or help you with any problems you may have while studying for the test.
The Driving Test
Once we both agree that your driving is up to test standard we will do a mock test to give you a taste of the real thing and assess your driving skills. If the mock goes well then you can apply for your driving test provided you have passed your theory test. This can be done in writing, by phone or online. Full details are given on the DSA web site.
